I’ve had some interesting conversations recently with individuals who are feeling that life is a bit more challenging than usual. Their sparks have dimmed a little and they’re being influenced by the dark side of the media and the current financial climate.
Now, let me make one thing clear: I’m all about facing things head-on when they arise. I’m definitely not a fan of ‘toxic positivity’. You know, that whole “just smile through it”mentality without addressing the real issues. I’ll definitely dive into that topic in a separate post soon, so stay tuned!
Based on my own experiences and the work I’ve done with incredible souls, I know that it’s important to keep working with the tools you have in your back pocket. Be realistic, but don’t let external issues that are beyond your control dictate your life. You have complete control over your mind, your being, and how you handle any situation that comes your way.
Now, let’s talk about something that’s often mentioned in the business world: building the right ‘team’ around you. When I used to consult, I would always emphasise the importance of assembling the perfect team and ensuring that no crucial skills were left out. From accountants, bookkeepers, marketers, virtual assistants, tech support—the list goes on.
“Your Power Team (YPT)”
I used to call this “Your Power Team (YPT)” and I still wholeheartedly stand by this advice for any successful business no matter what the size. However, there is this new chapter of my life and my business -“Business and Life”…
If you don’t have a business this is still for you. Business, career, and life are not separate even though a lot of people seem to forget this critical part, they are in fact intertwined and if one is off balance so is the other energetically even if we realise it or not. Here’s the key component: You also need to have what I call your “Spiritual Support Team (SST)”.
“Spiritual Support Team (SST)” What does this mean exactly?
Well, it’s a similar concept, but it’s all about supporting yourself, your soul, your energy, and your self-care. And it applies to everyone, especially if you’re involved in energy work. Self-care is not just some optional luxury—it’s an absolute necessity. When we take care of ourselves and prioritise our happiness and well-being, we not only help ourselves but also those around us.
Your “Spiritual Support Team” could include an acupuncturist, therapist, reiki or meditation teacher, coach, kinesiologist, chiropractor, and so on. The possibilities are endless. You don’t need to see these individuals every week, but it’s important to know who you have on your spiritual support team. It could also include accountability buddies, friends, colleagues, or people you can turn to when you need that extra bit of connection, realignment, and nourishment for your soul.
If you haven’t considered this before, I invite you to take 5 mins out of your day, sit down with a cuppa, and map out on a piece of paper to see if you have any gaps missing in your support team and fill them in. It really is a game changer and mentally, it’s reassuring to know that you have a support team for your business, career, and life. So, when things get tough or you need an extra boost to top up your tank, you know exactly who you can call on.
