When the year didn’t begin the way I expected…

Sometimes life throws us curveballs that make us feel wobbly, unsure, even a little scared and ungrounded. I want to share a little story with you. At the beginning of 2025, the year didn’t begin the way I imagined. Just eleven days into the new year, I broke my foot and ankle in three places.

Only at first, I was told it wasn’t broken, so I continued travelling with my family (camping – yes, camping!) for another ten days in excruciating pain. But deep down, I knew I had broken it. I stayed on my crutches, refused to put weight on it, and trusted the quiet voice inside me that said something was wrong. That has been one of my biggest lessons over the years: to always trust your intuition, even when the “professionals” say otherwise.

When we arrived back in Sydney, further scans revealed exactly what I had felt all along: three breaks and a trip straight back to the hospital. It wasn’t shocking, but it was a massive disruption. Being a mum to two young kids, running a home, and juggling work with my husband (both of us self-employed)… it was a lot. I was told I’d be back on my feet in six weeks. Yet in reality, it took over a full year for the pain to fully stop. While the bones healed quickly, the ligament damage took its own sweet time. I had to learn patience on a level I’d never experienced before while trying to keep everyday life moving. Things improved, then a setback put me back a few steps. It was literally one step forward 2 steps back for a long while.

I hadn’t planned to commit to many events last year anyway (luckily), but the reason I’m sharing all of this is that, sometimes, when life pulls the rug from under us, something else is quietly rearranging itself in the background. We think we’re “off track”, when actually, we’re being redirected.

For me, that redirection became the podcast. Being stuck at home meant I finally had the space to create Season One, which I launched in February 2025, and finishing it was another steep learning curve. The feedback reminded me of something I had forgotten: people actually liked my voice (some won’t, and that’s fine. I’m not for everyone).

When working with my 1:1 coaching clients, I often send them meditation recordings after our sessions. Over time, I began recording more and more of them, and realised I needed a central place where they could live. My first thought was to build an online hub through ThriveCart. I set up the whole ecosystem, which took ages… and then realised the usability wasn’t quite right.

What I really wanted was something simpler. Softer. More accessible. Something people could open anytime, anywhere, when they needed a moment to breathe.

So I kept following the idea and letting it evolve…

What began as a small practical solution slowly started to turn into something much bigger than I had originally imagined. It wasn’t something I mapped out on my vision board last year (but neither was breaking my ankle!). It all began to unfold quietly from around May with an intuitive nudge and has grown into something that feels both rebellious and deeply aligned.

So, why am I sharing all this with you?

Because sometimes when we feel behind, or “off”, or not where we thought we’d be… we are actually exactly where we’re meant to be, it sounds cliché, doesn’t it, but it’s true.

Because in my circumstance…

If I hadn’t broken my ankle…
If I hadn’t been stuck at home…
If I hadn’t followed those tiny intuitive whispers…
None of this would have unfolded.

I wouldn’t have learned how to set up my own systems, workflows, editing processes, or how to shape the recordings exactly the way I wanted. And while my husband (a professional editor) could have edited everything for me, this was something I needed to learn myself, and it helped me craft and create the end outcome I wanted. It gave me creative independence that feels like freedom to me. Freedom to capture ideas quickly, to create in flow, and to hold the full vision from start to finish. I’m not saying later on I won’t outsource this; however, this is where things needed to start.

And in a world full of AI-generated ‘everything’, which is only going to grow (don’t get me wrong, I think AI is great in certain uses). I wanted this new creation to feel fully human, intuitive, energetic and crafted with intention, not rushed or mass-produced. I want the end user to energetically connect with the words and their intention as they receive them.

Something that lands softly in the ears and hearts of those who need it. A place for them to be able to slow down, to sit in stillness, even if only for a few minutes in this busy, hectic, crazy world that isn’t slowing down any time soon… A place for quiet, stillness, a small sanctuary just for them to feel whole, to feel like themselves again…

And soon… it will be here.

Something beautiful has been quietly taking shape… I’ll share more about what’s arriving soon in the coming weeks. But I wanted to share with you the story of how it unfolded, with me following a whisper and trusting the process. I wanted you to see where this journey began and the soul unfolding behind it.

This is also a reminder that if this year hasn’t turned out as you had hoped or planned, there is most likely another path waiting for you that you don’t even know about yet. Trust that you are in the right place and all is happening as it should.

Until next time,
